    The International Olympiad for Informatics is proudly organised by the Australian Mathematics Trust and The University of Queensland.

    More than 300 competitors from 80 countries are taking part in the competition that tests the computer programming skills of the brilliant teenagers taking part.

    While “informatics” might be an unfamiliar term to some, it simply refers to a broad academic field ranging from human interactions with computers, information science, information technology, algorithms, areas of mathematics and social sciences.
